This Month’s Books – May 2015

This was a weird month. There was so much going on that I didn’t get a chance to read much, but I did manage to squeak in two new-to-me books. Both nonfiction, both good.
The first was this.

I Am Not Myself These Days by Josh Kilmer-Purcell.

Holy crap. If you would like to read a book about a 7-foot-tall drag queen and his crack-addicted escort boyfriend, be introduced to the phrase ‘fish tits,’ and just generally be entertained for awhile, then read this one. Wow.

And next up we have:

How to Be a Woman by Caitlin Moran.

While I did enjoy this book, it’s not for everyone. (Like the other book is. Yeesh.) This one is part memoir, part feminist manifesto. And while I don’t agree with her every opinion, it was still a good read, and there were parts that made me think, holy crap, someone put into words how I’ve always felt about this!

And that’s all I managed to read this month. Boo. Hiss.

Onto the next month!
