The past few winters we’ve used a tractor for plowing snow. It’s not our tractor, so we returned it this weekend to its rightful owners. First, my husband used it for one last thing…
Yanking a semi out of the woods. Like you do.
Then I got in the car and started following him down the road. Now in a normal situation one would haul a tractor, but our truck is in the garage. In 485 pieces. Therefore…git along little doggie.
This happened for roughly 7 miles. At 10 miles per hour. That’s a half-hour of my life I’ll never get back.
A tractor from the ’60s hauling a brush hog is only the second-weirdest thing I’ve had to follow down the highway with my hazard lights flashing. The weirdest thing was the semi pictured above; but at the time there was no cab on it. Instead of a cab there was a chunk of plywood strapped to the frame, with a chair strapped onto that. My husband drove that down the road at 40 miles an hour.
For whatever reason I didn’t get a picture of that one, probably because I was afraid my spouse was going to bounce right off that sheet of plywood and end up a grease spot on the highway.
Weekends are so exciting up here in the back of beyond, aren’t they?
See you later!
