One is a cowl made with a skein of bulky yarn. It’s knit like a scarf and then the ends are sewn together to form a cowl. Mine is a bit smaller than most because I didn’t have a full skein of yarn, but it’s lovely anyway. Super warm! It came together in just a few hours, which makes me like it even more.
I feel honor-bound to point this out. The picture below kept bothering me because my hair is ridiculous, and then it hit me that it looks like David Cassidy’s hair back in the day.
I mean really. Twinsies.
The other scarf is made from a vintage pattern; it’s a bow-tie neck scarf. My husband says it looks rather phallic. He’s not wrong.
I knit this one with a vintage ombre wool that I found at Goodwill. I still have some of it left, and no clue what to use it for.
In other news, this past Saturday we had an early Thanksgiving with my husband’s family, and much fun was had by all. (By the way, if anyone ever offers you a shot of Malört, run away. QUICKLY.) I am cooking dinner on the actual day of Thanksgiving, where much wine will be had by all, which is the same thing as fun.
Because of the holiday, and because I will be cleaning everything in sight and trying not to overcook the cheesecake, I shall be skipping the usual Wednesday post. Which is good because the 4.2 of you that actually read this site will be busy busy busy this week anyway, amiright? So I’ll be back on Saturday, perhaps Friday if I get up the gumption.
See you this weekend, and have a good holiday!
